Oklahoma Super Lawyers 2009 (Nov. 2009)
Norman Wohlgemuth Chandler & Dowdell is proud to announce that four of its members are named in the Oklahoma Super Lawyers 2009 edition published annually in Oklahoma Magazine.

Joel Wohlgemuth, Shareholder & Director, was named to the top 50 list of lawyers in the state who received the highest point totals in the 2009 Oklahoma Super Lawyers nomination, research and blue ribbon review process.

John E. Dowdell, Shareholder & Director, was recognized in his practice areas of business litigation, energy & natural resources and apppellate law.

William W. O'Connor, Shareholder & Director, was recognized in his practice areas of business litigation, employment litigation, defense and antitrust litigation.  

Jo Lynn Jeter, Associate, was named to the 2009 Oklahoma Rising Stars listing, which recognizes the state’s outstanding young lawyers. Jeter received the honor in the practice area of business litigation.

Expanding Character (May 2009)
Norman Wohlgemuth Chandler & Dowdell is pleased to announce the addition of J. Matt Tilly to the firm.  Mr. Tilly obtained his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma in May 2009, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class.  While in law school, Mr. Tilly served as Articles Editor for the Oklahoma Law Review, President of the Board of Advocates, and President of the Federalist Society.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Tilly served as a summer clerk for the Honorable Gregory K. Frizzell in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma.

Charles E. Norman (Jan 2009)
Charles E. Norman passed away on January 2, 2009. He was a founding member of the firm and a community-spirited champion of Tulsa. His legacy of contributions to the arts, education and civic progress are visible throughout the city. Born in Texas, Mr. Norman moved to the Sooner state to attend the University of Oklahoma where he received his bachelor’s degree in 1951 and his law degree in 1953. At the age of 29, Mr. Norman became Tulsa’s youngest appointed City Attorney, a position he held for nearly a decade. In 1968, he ventured into private practice, establishing the Norman & Wohlgemuth law firm, which later evolved into Norman Wohlgemuth Chandler & Dowdell.
